Further easing of Corona restrictions in Oldenburg from Monday, 10.05.2021

Oldenburg's 7-Day-Index value has continued to remain below 100. With that, some further restrictions will be lifted in the city starting on Monday, the 10th of May. Here is a quick overview of what changes.

Shopping

  • All shops will be reopening

  • Click & Meet with prior appointment will be allowed for shops up to 200 m².

  • To enter shops larger than 200m², you will an offical negative test, proof of full vaccination, or proof of recovery from corona. Making a quick selftest right before entering the shop will also be possible.



Restaurants

  • Outdoor dining is reopening in areas with an incidence rate of under 100 (this includes Oldenburg).

  • You will need an offical negative test, proof of full vaccination, or proof of recovery from corona. Making a quick selftest in the entrance will also be possible.

  • All restaurants must close at 23:00.

  • Restaurants must have a functioning hygiene concept, including the distancing between the tables. Guests should stay at their tables.

  • There is a possibility that indoor dining may reopen in two weeks, with a maximum capacity of 50%.


Social Contact

  • According to National law, citizens who have been fully vaccinated since 14 days and fully recovered individuals will no longer be counted in the limits of social contact. They will also no longer have to observe any curfew, if it incides again.


Hotels

  • Hotels, holiday homes, hostels, campsites and other accommodation facilities are allowed to reopen.

  • Accommodation is only allowed for people who have their primary or secondary residence in Lower Saxony.

  • Maximum occupancy of 60 percent in hotels and youth hostels.

  • If a guest is not fully vaccinated and has no proof of recovery, it will be required to perform a test upon entry, and also twice a week during the stay.


Free Time

  • Outdoor events such as open-air theater, readings or concerts with seating arrangements will be allowed again. Visitors will have to be vaccinated, have proof of recovery, or a negative test.

  • For people up to the age of 18, outdoor contact sports in groups of up to 30 people will be allowed again (for example football games).

  • Zoos and botanical Gardens can be visited up to 50% of the total capacity, without the necessity of a test.

  • Museums, Galleries and Exhibitions will also be allowed up to 50% capacity, with the requirement of vaccination, proof of recovery or a negative test.


Schools and Daycare Centers

  • Scenario B will be reintroduced for all pupils until an incidence rate of 165 is crossed.

  • Limited regular operation at daycare centers with fixed groups and rooms (scenario B)

  • Further regular self-testing, with an extension to daycare children.




The plan may be subject to changes in the upcoming days or weeks, but we will update you as soon as possible if any changes do indeed take place.
