An overview of the new Corona regulations
Since the 2th november the new regulations came into effect. These new measures especially effect the social and cultural life of each and everyone. The following post gives you and overview of the biggest changes. The regulations were decided by the "Bund-Länder" Comissions and therefore the regularization concern the whole country.
The ones which have the biggest impact for students are listed below:
1. Public Events and Partys: Subject to the new regulations it is only allowed to meet with one other household (meaning two households in total). Private partys are only permitted with maximum permissible of ten people of two different households. In the case of violation of these regulations high fines may be imposed.
2. Face masks are compulsory in the whole city centre of Oldenburg now: Since the 26th ocotber everyone has to wear a mask in the inner city. The regulations mainly includes the area between Lappan and the Oldenburger Schlosshöfe. It also includes the parking lots of supermarkets and shopping centres!
3."Soft" Lockdown: The new regulations include the temporary closure of all restaurants, bars, clubs, Cafés, cinemas, theatres, libraries and museums. You are still able to order food from restaurants, but the dining areas are closed. The lockdown also includes the closure of all (indoor) swimming pools, saunas, thermals and gyms. Cosmetic studios and tattoo studios are closed as well. Hairdressing salons are still open.
4. Campus life: Across the whole campus you have to wear a face mask now. The university library adapt its opening hours. The central library (Haarentor) is open from Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Sunday the library is closed.
The Dept. library (Wechloy) is open from Monday-Friday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday the library is closed.

Considering the current developments the surrounding the whole Corona virus situation all attendance teaching will be suspended until further notice. For more information you can go th the website: https://uol.de/info-coronavirus
The "Hochschulsport" will not occur in november. The gym of the university and the swimming pool will be closed until the 30th november as well. The university canteen and cafeteria (Uhlhornsweg) stay open, under the current hygiene measures. The opening hours are as follows: Monday- Friday 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Travel Restrictions: Toroustic overnight stays are not permitted within the country during the whole month of november.
Church services are still allowed. Strict hygiene specifications apply for all participants.

As you can see on the map above the current incidence in Oldenburg is over 50 new infections per 100 000 inhabitants each day.

Keep in mind that the regulations are time sensitive: Especially in those times regulations can change fast. The "Bundesregierung" will discuss the situation and the further course of dealing with the Corona virus on the 11th november.
